ACTING ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL MISSION & IDENTITY
It’s been a privilege to witness our continued commitment to the Mercy Values that define our school. The term was filled with significant moments: the historic celebration of our 150-Year Mass and Dinner, and opening of the History Room, the dedication of our Student Leaders at the Leader Induction, the solemnity of Ash Wednesday, St Joseph’s Day, and our Way of the Cross liturgy this week.
As we now enter the sacred season of Easter, let’s carry the spirit of these celebrations with us, remembering the hope, renewal and love that Easter brings.
I hope you have time over the Easter break for rest and reflection with loved ones. Here are a few suggestions for Easter holiday activities:
For our Primary students:
- Easter Garden Creation: Help your child create a small Easter garden using a shallow dish, soil, and small plants. You can add a cross made of twigs and small figures to represent the Easter story.
- Easter Story Egg Hunt: Hide plastic eggs with simple picture clues inside, each leading to the next part of the Easter story. After they find all the eggs, read the story together.
For our Secondary students:
- Volunteer your time: Offer your time to help others in need – mow a lawn, cook a meal, write a thank you note.
- Holy Week: Attend the Holy Thursday or Good Friday mass, or 2nd Rite of Reconciliation (10th April).
For everyone:
- Easter Sunday brunch: Prepare a special Easter brunch together to share.
I wish you all a blessed and peaceful Easter break and look forward to seeing you in Term 2.
With God's blessings,Mary Roberts
