We are excited to announce that the annual St Joseph's School Cross Country Carnival will take place as planned, tomorrow Friday, 4 April, at the Stanthorpe Golf Club. Despite the wet conditions, the event is set to be an enjoyable and memorable day for all.

To help you prepare, here are the key details:

  • Program of Events: A full schedule is attached for your reference.
  • Dress Code: Students are required to wear their house shirt (McAuley or Davadi) paired with green sports shorts, along with their house hat for a vibrant and sun-smart day.
  • Wet Weather Reminder: As the course is very wet, students should bring a spare pair of shoes and a picnic blanket to sit on while not racing.
  • Canteen Options: The Club House canteen will be open for students who wish to purchase lunch items. Alternatively, packed lunches from home are welcome.
  • Arrival and Departure Times:
    • Students aged 5 to 8 will arrive at 12:45pm and return to school by 1:20pm.
    • All other students will stay until the carnival concludes and will be returned to school via bus for regular dismissal at the end of the day.
  • Hydration and Sun Safety: Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Sunscreen will be provided regularly.

A few additional reminders:

  • Students should stay off the greens and be mindful of the course.
  • Parking spaces on the outsides of the carpark must be left clear for buses to turn around safely.

Parents are warmly encouraged to come along and cheer on the students, fostering the spirit of community that makes this day so special.

We look forward to seeing you there for a fun-filled day of sportsmanship and school pride.

Netball
On Tuesday, 1st April, our school had the privilege of hosting a representative from Netball Queensland.

This special visit provided an inspiring opportunity for our students to learn about the world of netball directly from a professional.

During their time with us, the representative shared valuable insights into the sport, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and dedication. They also engaged with the students through interactive activities, leaving everyone inspired and more connected to the spirit of the game.

Well done to a number of students who took part in the Darling Downs Netball Trials, held in Toowoomba on Wednesday, 2nd April, and Thursday, 3rd April. This event served as a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their skills, sportsmanship, and commitment to the sport.

Congratulations to Riley Pfeiffer, Portia Vedelago, Mia Howard, Isabel Cavallaro, and Emma Pradella for their participation in Wednesday's trials. Your dedication and effort are truly commendable!

A special acknowledgment goes to Mia Howard for her outstanding achievement on Wednesday. Mia successfully secured a spot on the 12Yrs Darling Downs Netball Team.  Well done, Mia!

We also extend our best wishes to Anthea Sunderland, Indigo Kunze, Alanna Fox, Charlie Lemon, and Chloe Staley as they participate in the trials today. Good luck, and may your efforts be rewarded!
