School Improvement Review

School Improvement Review

Last Monday to Wednesday, a School Renewal and Improvement Review was conducted at St Joseph’s School. The purpose of this Toowoomba Catholic School quadrennial school review is to engage the school community in a process of self-reflection and continual renewal, to ensure the school review focus is on the quality of teaching and learning in a Catholic environment, to provide the school community with an opportunity to participate in a thorough reflection on their school’s effectiveness and to provide an external panel perspective including findings and improvement strategies to celebrate and improve teaching and learning.

A review panel consisting of Mr John Coman, Toowoomba Catholic Schools Senior Educational Leader; Mr Jim Midgley, Toowoomba Catholic Schools Teaching and Learning; Mr Kort Goodman, Principal of Assumption College Warwick and Mr Norm Hunter, Consultant for School Reviews with Education Queensland, visited the school over the three-day period to undertake the school review.

During the three day visit, the panel interviewed staff, parents, students, the Parish Priest, members of the P&F Association and School Board. Essentially two questions were asked regarding what the school does well and where is improvement or attention needed. A report and executive summary will be finalised in the two weeks after the visit from the review panel.
