Year 6 Camp
On Wednesday 7th March, the Year 6 students, Mr David Fleming, Mrs Linda Charlton and Mr Mick Grew headed off to Camp Laurence at Lake Moogerah for 3 days. Whilst for many there was a sense of excitement when they departed on Wednesday morning, for others it was a more daunting experience. However, upon their return, on Friday afternoon, the Year 6s had many smiles and stories of achievement to relay.
The students were involved in a variety of outdoor educational experiences such a mountain bike riding, high ropes and raft building and enjoyed a gorge walk, resulting in individual and collective achievements.
One of the many benefits of the Year 6 camp is the ability to engage with activities outside of one’s comfort zone. Each student has the ability to learn something about themselves by participating in this camp, as well as gaining some of the skills required to be an effective leader.
