The nine player QISSN team is in final preparation for the 2017 titles, being held at the Boondall Sports Centre, Brisbane over the first week of the upcoming June/July school holidays. The team continues to build its skills playing each week in the YMCA netball competition and training each Monday afternoon. Coach Bernadette Brunckhorst has been pleased with the girls commitment to the game.

Each year the team works towards reducing the costs of the titles by holding a variety of fundraising events. The team thanks the St Joseph’s School community and the local community of Stanthorpe for its continued support of these events. The team has raised funds through the recent Scratchie Board, with Linda Perrett winning the $150 worth of tickets. A pie drive also occurred with over 30 orders being placed. Since the beginning of the year Wednesday tuckshops for students on the secondary campus have been organized by the QISSN team. Last week on the first State of Origin game over 14 kilograms of hot chips were fried for hungry secondary students.

This year the team will be in new navy and white walk-out shirts at the opening ceremony at Mt Alvernia College on Sunday 25th June. The team looks forward to sharing the event via St Joseph’s School Facebook over the week long titles!
